Single Aunt raising 3 nephews after sister dies.
JC is a 16 yr old boy who wrote in stating, he was seeking help for Christmas for his siblings ages 9, 11, 14. He explained how his mother had passed away, after battling a long term illness. JC Aunt took the boys into her home and has been raising them as her own. But as a Single Parent herself, finances have been tight. Not leaving her with much after expenses are met to provide gifts for the children for Christmas. Dad loses job unexpectedly.
Jerry's employer sold the company leaving him without a job. Family now only has mom's part-time income to live on. Food pantries and churches have kept food on their table. When their daughter Megan asks for more to eat, she is told we must save something for tomorrow in fear of not having food to eat. Yes this is your neighbor, friend or even the lady you sit next to at church. These are real people, situations and their story. Children shouldn’t to know what it feels like to be hungry, homeless or without utilities, but they do. You can help this little one have a second helpings this Holiday.
WHAT PROGRAMS ARE AVAILABLE?
ADOPTION PROGRAM
Provide food & gifts for a family that would not be able to celebrate Christmas this year without your help. Select your adopted family from profiles provided by Christian HELP; Purchase the gifts (up to $40 per child) provide food or gift certificate ($40-$50 per family) and share Christmas with them.
FAMILY SPONSORSHIP
A second way to provide Christmas is to sponsor a family. Your Donation of $40 will provide a holiday food basket for the holiday meal and allow parents to select several gifts for their children at our gift room. The cost is low because most of the gifts and food are donated.
DOVE TREE PROGRAM
Your church, business or organization, can elect to place a Dove Tree in a designated area for others to select doves provided by Christian HELP containing the age, sex and gift suggestion for a special child in need of a Christmas gift. The Dove is selected, a gift is purchased and returned to the designated place for pick up. Gifts are limited to $15-$25 in value.
FOOD AND GIFT DONATIONS
This year more than ever the need is great. UNDER-employment is at a record high this year. Teen Gifts are always needed for our Gift Room as well as canned and boxed food donations for food baskets. You can also contribute by providing a monetary donation to purchase a turkey for a family.
