Mom rushes son to Emergency room.
Kari son had been ill all of his live with cerebral palsy,
Little did this mom know at the time, that this would be the last time, she would hold or see her son. After arriving at the hospital, her son passed away. This mom was now grieving for the loss of her son, and having to remain strong for her two surviving daughters. What little money she had, was spent on funeral expenses. This family has suffered such a great loss, they will need the love and kindness of strangers to make this Christmas special.
Single Dad loses job.
Rodger was given his last paycheck, and was told that the company he worked for was going out of business. Being the sole financial provider for his children, Brandon and Cori, he wondered what would become of them. Rodger had two lives depending on him. The hardest feeling for a parent to experience is not being able to provide for their children. Unemployment not only affects the unemployed person, but also the children. Children know when mom or dad are worried or stress, though we try to reassure them, that everything’s alright, they hear and see more than we realize.
For the unemployed, having a home and food for their children at times, is more than they can manage.
