OPEN VOLUNTEER POSITIONS URGENT VOLUNTEER NEED LOCATION: Florida Fairgrounds (Must have own transportation) POSITION: Parking Attendants for Job Fair (SIX PEOPLE NEEDED) DAYS: Wednesday March 24, 2010 HOURS: 9-2 TRAINING: Yes POSITION DESCRIPTION: Assisting job seekers find parking. Directing traffic. Water and lunch provided. Hat and sunblock recommended. LOCATION: Central Florida Fairgrounds POSITION: Job Fair parking set up DAYS: Wednesday March 23, 2010 HOURS: 8:00-3:00 *****NEED OWN TRANSPORTATION***** TRAINING: No POSITION DESCRIPTION: Pounding stakes, stringing maker tape, out in the sun walking a lot. Wear hat and sunblock. Water and lunch provided. LOCATION: Casselberry POSITION: Employment Counselor DAYS: Tuesday-Friday (On-going) HOURS: 9:30-2:30 TRAINING: Yes, On-going training and initial training involving shadowing experienced counselors or Director of Counseling. Hands on training making use of tools available for each session; computer programs, food assistance procedures, reference material, and Job Board. POSITION DESCRIPTION: Ability to meet client on their level of need. Strong communication skills and acute listening skills. Must be willing to offer prayer to client and share the gospel, if the opportunity presents itself. LOCATION: Casselberry POSITION: Food Pantry DAYS: Monday-Friday HOURS: 1-4 TRAINING: Yes POSITION DESCRIPTION: Sorting incoming food. Filling food orders for clients. You will have direct contact with our clients, we are seeking individuals that are compassionate and sensitive to clients need. Must be able to work well with others. Must be able to commit to at least one day a week. POSITION: VOLUNTEER EMPLOYMENT COUNSELOR (SATELLITE) REPORTS TO: Satellite Liaison JOB DESCRIPTION: Meeting with clients one on one to assist them in their job search and access other needs that are impairing their job search or having a climatic impact in their life. Involves good listening skills, the ability to discern needs, computer/internet skills, and most of all a strong faith base. Christian HELP is an evangelistic ministry and requires that you have the ability to pray with clients and offer the gospel when the opportunity arises. TIME COMMITMENT: Days and times are to be determined by the need, availability of counselors and cooperation of host ministries. For the East Orlando location we are looking at Monday and possibly Friday. Other days are optional if counselors are available. Their hours of operation are 9-4pm. but we will operate independently of their schedule. Days can be split between two counselors if help is available.
