Services of Christian HELP |
JOB REFERRAL |
| Each unemployed person who comes into the office, comes to a seminar
or calls in, completes a skills profile. The Christian HELP counselor uses
this, along with the person's resume in an interview to determine what the
person is best suited to do. The counselor then reviews open jobs for ones
requiring the job seeker's skills and discusses the job openings with the
seeker. Both job profiles and potential employee profiles are in a computerized
database so either can be pulled up by the skills sought. When a new job
lead is received, available candidates can be quickly found and notified
of the opening. On-site interviewing is available by local Human Resource
people. |
MATERIAL SUPPORT |
| Job seekers, as well as others who just need assistance, meet with a
counselor for a discussion to determine what the person can do for him, what
agencies can help, and what Christian HELP can provide. A large stock of
food is maintained for immediate assistance. Other needs are provided by
referrals to other agencies. |
SPIRITUAL SUPPORT |
| We recognize and work hard to convey God's place in the lives of those
who seek our help. We do all we can and encourage them to do all they can
but recognize that God can do far more than we can even imagine. Counselors
listen and discuss the person's walk with Christ. The many who accept Christ
are given Bibles along with others who need one. They do their best to help
the person work through problems and then commit them to prayer. The most
important part of Christian HELP's work is bringing individuals and families
before the Lord in prayer. |
MINISTRY DEVELOPMENT |
| God provided the right people at the right time to establish Christian
HELP's ministry. We feel God's call to help others establish the ministries
which they have been called to. We help think through and refine ministry
plans, explain the required paperwork and provide networking, material support,
encouragement, and prayer. |
NETWORKING |
| The best way to get a job is to have help. By networking together the
unemployed help each other find jobs and encourage each other. We meet the
fourth Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PM at Northland Community Church in
Longwood. Christian HELP also produces Job Fairs and Employment Seminars
to bring job seekers and employers together. We established the
Central Florida Employment
Council (CFEC) to network with employers on behalf of our clients. |

Volunteer Opportunities of Christian HELP |
| HELP Give Christmas |
Adopt an unemployed family for Christmas and provide a Christmas that
simply would not happen without you. |
| Food Drives |
Every week Christian HELP provides food for around 100 families. Assistance
is needed to move and transport the food before it can be given out. |
| Toy Drives |
At Christmas, Christian HELP provides new toys for over 400 families
(over 1,000 children). Donations are always needed as well as support for
transporting and organizing the inventory. |
| Everyday |
Volunteers are always needed to pick up food, distribute it, counsel
the unemployed, enter data, make phone calls, arrange donations and publicity
or carry out a mission of their own invention. |
