Testimonies
From clients
Hearing the stories of how people are being served, how their lives are being changed and how they in turn are helping others is one of the motivating and inspiring factors that keeps Christian HELP focused on their goal of helping the unemployed find jobs while providing for them materially and spiritually.
We invite you to read these success stories from our guests as well as those who may have adopted a family, or volunteered through any of the many opportunities. We trust you too will be inspired by these stories of giving and receiving.

“Desperate” that was how he described himself. He had contacted our church through a suicide help line and it was late into the evening when we talked. He had lost his job several months before, his marriage had fallen apart and he was facing vehicle repossession which would make finding work almost impossible. That night we were able to provide hope. Our congregation is blessed with various referral opportunities and funding to help support people in his situation. We were able to refer him to counseling, help get him back on track with his financial situation and through the generous support from Christian HELP he was given food. He also received coaching and advise with his resume and job search. Through a referral from Christian HELP he was interviewed for a position for which he was hired. He shared with us the confidence that he had as a result of the support and care he received from Christian HELP. Christian HELP is a wonderful example of the Church united together in the Kingdom work God has called each us in which to engage.

A client who just landed a job says, “I am honestly a bit overwhelmed by the care and concern I received from everyone in your office. You are a true servant in a very needed ministry. I will be praying for you and those whose lives you touch."

"The interview for which you helped me prepare, offered me a job yesterday. I accepted and start Monday. The salary is good and they have great benefits. God is good. Thank you for all your help. I hope our paths cross again in the future."

“I want to thank you Christian HELP employees for making things a lot more bearable for me and my family.
First, I was out of work and my unemployment ran out.
My husband’s pay was drastically cut due to the fall of the economy. You stepped in like soldiers of Christ do, and lifted us up when we needed it most.”
- “God is still doing miracles. It’s true! Having no place to go, we went to Christian HELP for assistance. They were very kind to us and the Lord used them to bless us with a place to go and with food to eat. They really do help people in need.”
- “First, I want to say thank you to my friend who introduced me to your organization. I was extremely lost for so long, without a career for a year and a half. It was painful and I felt like a failure. My visit to Christian HELP a few months ago gave me a little glimpse of the light at the end of the tunnel. Your staff was extremely gracious. They helped me with my career search and then to my surprise sent me to the building in the back. I had no clue why I was going there. I was asked to take several bags of food home. I was blown away!! Thank you for all that you did for me and for everyone else who needed help!”
A Christmas wish come true
A single mom lost her job in 2009 when the hotel she worked at was torn down. She was surviving by doing odd jobs here and there and came to Christian HELP for assistance with her job search. After speaking with her counselor about her job needs, the counselor asked her what she would do for her children at Christmas. She didn’t know how she would be able to give them toys. This mom's family was selected through the Christmas adoption program. When her adopter read her essay, she called a few of her friends and contacts and was able to offer this single mom a full-time job at a hotel! Our prayer at Christian HELP is that everyone in need of help, will also have a success story like this family. Your donations, toys, sponsorships and Christmas adoption help keep the Merry in Merry Christmas for families, who would go without, if it weren’t for your generosity. Thank you for caring and sharing!
Beth adopts Gloria and her grandchildren
Thank you for having a program to help people in need. We were blessed to adopt Gloria H. and her grandchildren. We met with her twice to deliver a tree and decorations and then my husband met Gloria to deliver their gifts. After meeting my husband, she called me crying and told me how thankful she was to have us. We asked her not to tell her grandchildren about us so one day in their little lives they can truly be blessed. Regards, Beth S. - Adopter
Giving back after receiving
A couple came to the office to drop off a few hundred dollars worth of teen toys for our Christmas program. They described their own visit at Christian HELP two years ago when they needed help. At the time, the husband was not doing well and needed help with mortgage and utilities. We were able to assist them and they always remembered that. Now that they were doing much better and had been blessed, they wanted to give back to the ministry. The wife cried and told us, “You have no idea how you helped us.” This was a very emotional moment for all of us.
This is all for us!?
A single mother came in to pick up her Christmas adoption package and was overwhelmed by all the gifts her adoptive family had given. She exclaimed, “This is all for us!?” and cried loudly. When she found a gift card for her among the presents, she asked, “How can someone who doesn't even know us, do all this for my children and me?” My reply was that “God works through people”. She came back a few days later with a photograph of her children standing by the tree the Adopter gave them and opening up their present. Christian HELP mailed the picture to her adopter.
Even the little gifts HELP!
A previous adopter phoned us during Christmas and expressed their family’s desire to help another family. She said her husband had lost his job eight months ago and her job was now their only income. She told us they were not going to be able to adopt a family this year, but wanted to know how they could still help. We shared information about our sponsorship program and how that may be a way to give within their means. For $40, a family of four would receive a holiday food basket, as well as several toys per child. She kept apologizing for not being able to do more. We let her know that a sponsorship like this would make a huge difference in the life of the family receiving it. We reassured her, that every little bit benefited the Christmas program. She felt appreciated and needed. It isn't about how much one can do or how little they can give, every donation big or small makes a difference for a family in need.
