"Richard was adamant about cherishing his time with his wife and family during retirement and not willing to sacrifice this job requirement."

In the next phase of his life, Richard entered retirement and sought a fulfilling part-time job that could draw upon his rich military background without the stress. At our initial meeting, we set our collaborative brainstorming commence. We explored a variety of job roles that aligned with his desire to contribute to the community and utilize his leadership and managerial skills.
Richard had made progress in his job search within a month; his resume was working for him, and he was landing interviews. However, he quickly discovered a hurdle. Every employer wanted to hire for full-time positions, even if the job description stated part-time. Richard was adamant about cherishing his time with his wife and family during retirement and not willing to sacrifice this job requirement.
We began navigating through the opportunities on the CFEC website when we came across multiple part-time positions available at the YMCA. The coaching roles emerged as the perfect fusion of Richard’s passion for community service and his wealth of experience in team leadership.
Leveraging our connections with CFEC and their Employer contacts, Richard swiftly secured an interview with the YMCA and remarkably another interview opportunity presented itself.
Suddenly, Richard found himself at the crossroads of decision making, weighing the pros and cons of two enticing part-time job offers. Ultimately, he embarked on a new chapter with Parks and Recreation donning the hat of Part-time Community Program Assistant. In his role, he not only continues to make meaningful impacts in the community but also relishes the well-deserved moments of retirement bliss!
