He came to us for the first time to ask for food assistance for himself and his household. He stood tall with great posture, but you could see in his eyes he was struggling. Not just for food but for something more. To encourage him, I invited him into conversation with a smile as he began his paperwork to become a client. When I asked about his employment status, he slowly revealed pieces of his story. He was just two weeks from starting a new job because at his last one, the pay was sporadic and unreliable.
He had great experience leading teams for many years in Sales environments, then changed to another industry only to find that wasn’t reliable or fulfilling.
