Matthew makes an impact in our community by fulfilling the very important role of Pantry Driver. Matthew contributes to the mission by picking up food from our 22 grocery partners three days a week so we can distribute the groceries to our neighbors in need. Rain, heat, or traffic never deters Matthew who has a quiet, unassuming way about him, combined with a can-do attitude. In a year, Matthew will have lifted, loaded, and unloaded some million pounds of food.
Service is not new to Matt. He was a Calvary scout with the US army. He conducted over 200 combat missions, numerous reconnaissance missions, as well as outreach work and training for native Iraqis. We are thankful for his service to our nation and now, our local communities.
Matthew says, “I am proud to work hard doing what I see as what working for God. It is physically demanding but well worth the rewards which in my eyes is making God happy.” When not working Matt enjoys reading, camping, sleeping, or spending time with family.
