Rebekah Morin

Thrift Store Manager
In June of 2021 I moved from Milwaukee, Wisconsin back to my hometown here in Central Florida. During the transition, I used the employment coaching resources offered through Christian HELP. This was my first connection to the ministry. I volunteered at a few events and made many new friends and connections.
Though most of my previous work experience had been in the field of education (special education, music education and children’s ministries), I decided to try other employment opportunities. In May of 2022 I learned that Christian HELP was opening a thrift store and I wondered if this might be an opportunity to use my limited retail experience. I had to do something for the kingdom of God in Central Florida.  As the daughter of missionaries, I had benefitted from D &D Missions Thrift Store and learned how to be frugal very early in life. I enjoy repurposing furniture and finding ways to creatively use resources. Each day I work At Redeemed Thrift Store I am blessed to interact with so many wonderful people from the community as well as volunteers. I love the name of the store “Redeemed, Making “cents” of Your Past for the Future of Families”. To be redeemed means to “buy back and change for the better”. What a beautiful thought that no matter where we have come from, God’s good and perfect will for each of us is redemption.
Isaiah 43:1-2
“Behold, I have redeemed you: I have called you by name you are mine. When You pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; When you walk through the fire you will not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you.”
