Welton was born in a coal mining camp in Affinity, WV, but was raised in New Jersey where later in life he had an extensive career in the hotel-casino industry. After a vacation to Florida with his wife he decided he liked it so much he would move to the Sunshine State in 2004. It was about in 2010 that Welton was introduced to Christian HELP at a CFEC Job Fair. At that event he secured a position with Qdoba Mexican Eats, later rising to the position of Director of Leadership & Catering.
After a successful career of 12 years at Qdoba and finally getting his book, “Weltonisms: Ancient Wisdom for Modern Problems” published, he decided to make a change and devote more time to “Building the Kingdom”. Welton loves people and was excited to hear about the position of Relationship Manager when it opened up at Christian HELP. As Welton puts it, “What better place to work and serve than the place that Christ provided for him when he was in need?!”
Welton has been happily married to his wife, Janice, for 36 years and they reside in Oviedo. He states, “Christ wants us to build relationships, love one another, and help one another as Christians, so let’s let the face of Christ shine through us.”
